2011 Nuits St Georges Les Proces

Bright full red. Reticent aromas of redcurrant and leather. Dense, sweet and sappy but youthfully imploded, hinting at black cherry and red and darker berries. Finishes with sweeter tannins and more length than the Arnoux village offerings.

A pungently earthy mélange of red currant, wild dark berries and spice hints merges into extract-rich, intense and palate coating medium-bodied flavors that are supported by firm but not hard tannins that evidence mild rusticity. There is very good power and excellent length with sufficient structure as to probably require up to a decade to resolve it. A classic Nuits. Tasted: Jan 14, 2013. Drink: 2019+
