Good medium-deep red. Sauvage aromas of red fruits and leather. Sweet, supple and broad; at once less showy and less precise than the Hautes Maizieres. Perhaps a bit youthfully closed. Finishes with ripe, dusty tannins and very good length, but a bit less lift than the Hautes Maizieres.

Blackberry-scented and medium-bodied, the 2002 Nuits-St.-Georges Les Proces is a deep, brooding, concentrated wine. Cassis liqueur, blackberries, and hints of asphalt can be discerned in its lively character. Armed with a firm, yet ripe, structure, it will require some cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2014. (50% new oak; Lachaux made up an approximate blend) Red-ruby. Black- and redcurrant, plum, leather and chocolate on the nose, with a floral lift. Sappy flavors of cherry, plum and raspberry supported by solid tannic structure. Nicely balanced, persistent wine with good depth. Brightened today by some unabsorbed gas. Very strong for this cuvee
Very sweet and easy and round. Completely winning. Macerated cherry appeal. Good, but not excessive, acidity. No shortage of tannins. (JR)
