Note di degustazione
I loved the 2009 Châteauneuf Du Pape Réserve Auguste Favier, a spicy, sensationally complex, Provençal beauty that has tons of sweet red and black fruits, flowery incense, sandalwood, and peppery garrigue-like nuances. With full-bodied richness, a round, supple, sexy mouthfeel, and sweet tannins, this wonderfully complete 2009 is drinking at point today yet is going to evolve gracefully over the coming 10-12 years. Made from 83% Grenache, 15% Cinsault, and 2% Syrah, it was vinified in equal parts demi-muids and concrete, then aged in demi-muids (50%) and concrete (50%) for 15 months. Drink: 2025-2036.

At ten years of age, the 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Reserve Auguste Favier is sitting pretty. Yes, there are some super ripe, chocolaty notes, but there's also plenty of fruit remaining in this lush, full-bodied wine, which finishes on savory notes of black olives and licorice.
Bright ruby. Sexy, heady aromas of candied red fruits, potpourri, Asian spices and licorice. Stains the palate with vibrant black raspberry and cherry flavors enlivened by blood orange and white pepper nuances. A pure and incisive 2009 with excellent finishing power and cut.
Vivid ruby. Intensely perfumed scents of red berry preserves, potpourri, Asian spices and white pepper. Potent raspberry and cherry flavors are given cut by tangy acidity and pick up a deeper cherry pit quality with aeration. Impressively pure, accented by intense finishing spiciness and persistent floral character. This is already very alluring.
