Note di degustazione
A classic Pessac-Léognan that gives consistently enjoyable wines, this is unfussy but enjoyable, very much ready to drink. Old school and well balanced, there is a sense of momentum through the palate, still shows raspberry and redcurrant fruit, but acidity and tannins are holding this together, not necessarily the fruit. 35% new oak.

The 2005 Carbonniex is a gorgeous wine to drink now and over then next 10-15 years, maybe more. Time has softened the edges and given the 2005 lovely aromatic complexity. This mid-weight Pessac-Léognan isn’t a blockbuster, but it is immensely delicious today and really hitting its stride as a wine that is approaching maturity. Sweet red plum, white pepper, cedar and pipe tobacco linger on the classy, understated finish.
Tasted blind. Lacks some of the frank freshness of the appellation. Rather sweet and unappetising. (JR)
Sweet, floral and pretty. Not concentrated, or emphatic but delightfully balanced and flattering for current drinking. Attractive freshness. (JR)
