Note di degustazione
A joyous, exuberant wine, the 2012 Clos Puy Arnaud hits the palate with layers of intense fruit, sweet aromatics and silky, polished tannins. The style is intensely ripe yet also impeccably balanced throughout. Bold red cherry, pomegranate, sweet spices and mint meld into the super expressive finish. Clos Puy Arnaud is one of the sleepers of the vintage, no doubt about it. This is a terrific showing from proprietor Thierry Valette's biodynamically farmed Castillon property. The blend is 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc.

Well-known proprietor Thierry Valette has produced this wine, a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, from a biodynamically farmed vineyard. A sleeper of the vintage, this wine has dense ruby/purple color, sweet black cherry and blackcurrant fruit, chalky minerality, medium body, excellent concentration, depth and length. The purity, overall equilibrium and sweet tannin suggest a wine that could be drunk young or cellared for up to a decade.
Deep purplish crimson. Sweet and more red- than black-fruited. Similarly on the palate, a bit fruit-juice-like with cranberry sweet acidity. A bit tart on the finish. Light, fine tannins. (JH)
