The 2008 Giscours has a delightful bouquet with mainly black fruit, cedar and iris flower, quite pretty and refined, classical in style. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, decent freshness, good energy and just a touch of VA. It's a little edgy for Giscours, but I appreciate the salinity on the finish. Drinking now.

Tasted blind. Dark shaded ruby. Not that intense on the nose. But very well mannered and fresh. Needs food because of the substantial charge of fine tannins, but lots to like here. (JR)
Lovely red fruit on the nose, with lots of floral elegance – a good, classic Margaux with a lovely rhubarb and beetroot aroma giving complexity. Lovely stage of development on the palate – would delight any bordeaux fan, I'm sure. (RH)

Ch. Giscours is a Third Growth estate situated in the Médoc appellation of Margaux. With a long and somewhat chequered history, the estate has seen an impressive rise in quality since the early 2000s and is only getting better.
