The 2014 Nuits St Georges les Chaliots comes from Michel 0.8-hectare parcel at the top of the vineyard bordering "Les Poirets." This felt a little reduced on the nose when I tasted it from barrel, just a little smudged and not singing like the 2014 Nuits Saint Georges Villages. The palate is sharp on the entry with pointed tannin, compact in the mouth with a foursquare finish. You know, it's early days, but I might just prefer the harmony and "flow" of the regular village cru this year.
