Note di degustazione
Sweet and full. Rich nose but not enough intensity of fruit or tannins on the palate. Out of balance. (JR)

This is an elegant, lightweight effort from Picque Caillou, a vineyard not far from Bordeaux’s Merignac Airport. The 2001 reveals cedar, smoky oak, red currant, and cherry characteristics in a medium-bodied, Burgundy-like style. This pleasant offering lacks depth, but will drink over the next 4-5 years.
Very good colour. Fresh nose. Easy fruit. Easy drinking, but not an en primeur wine. (JR)

Neighbouring Haut-Brion and Pape Clément, this estate has been turned around since Paulin Calvet took over in 2007. Working with the legendary late Denis Dubourdieu and Valérie Lavigne, results have been impressive.
