Such a bright colour! Varnish, antique wood, vanilla. Absolutely prototypical of the Aussie Shiraz/Cabernet style. All oak, all fruit, all pleasure. Time to drink up and relish that indulgent boldness. (RH)
Very sweet and polished. Then slightly green with strong cassis notes on the finish. Very competently made but not that complex. (JR)
Fruit from Coonawarra. 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Shiraz. 18 months in new American oak hogsheads. pH 3.32, TA 7.1 g/l. Bottled December 1991 at Nuriootpa. 1250 cases. Dry and muscular. Alcohol plus acid. Tart for the moment. This one seems to need forever to shine. (JR)
