Note di degustazione
Beautiful aromatics on the nose, with deftly extracted blackberry and blackcurrant fruit, sandalwood, cedar, cocoa bean and espresso notes that are well integrated but still providing a caressing gourmet kick. Lovely sage and cloves, precisely carved tannic frame that has just enough austerity to suggest it remains on the edge of its drinking window, with many years ahead. 50% new oak, 35hl/ha yield.

A classic Margaux in every sense, with complexity, perfume, and elegance prized over power and richness, the 2009 Château D'Issan reveals a still youthful ruby/plum color as well as beautiful notes of blackcurrants, unsmoked tobacco, cedary herbs, and truffly earth. It shows the rich, sunny style of the vintage and is certainly medium to full-bodied, but it's weightless, nicely balanced, and just classy Bordeaux all the way. Enjoy bottles any time over the coming 20 years or more.
The 2009 d’Issan is endowed with an intense and classically styled bouquet, quite tight at the beginning but opening with black plum and bilberry scents. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, almost Pauillac in style with graphite infused black fruit and a long, black pepper and cedar infused finish. This represents the best showing of the 2009 d'Issan. Excellent. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners’ 2009 Bordeaux tasting.
