Rolland was consulting here until 2006. Very dark crimson with just a suggestion of development at the rim. Sweet, rich, ripe Cabernet on the nose. Then fine acidity and refreshment on the palate. This is not the most typically Margaux but all the elements are there. Rather drying tannins on the finish. Slightly as though made by formula rather than by terroir but a reasonably satisfying bottle. (JR)

Layered nose. Quite velvety texture – certainly competent but just a little green and tart for enormous pleasure. (JR)
This impressively constructed wine offers a saturated deep ruby/purple color, followed by elegant aromas of berry fruit intermixed with tobacco, flowers, and vanillin scents. It is layered and medium to full-bodied, with outstanding purity and fruit extraction. Although deep, rich, and powerful for a wine from this estate, it has not lost any of its elegance or potential complexity. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2025.
