Note di degustazione
The 2007 Lafon-Rochet is perfumed and floral on the nose with red berry fruit, black pepper, clove and light sous-bois scents. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit laced with cedar and marine scents. It's pretty saline on the finish. This is commendable 2007, even though Basile Tesseron describes the season as a "nightmare". Tasted at the Lafon-Rochet vertical at the property.

61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot. A tricky year during which Basile joined as managing director. Mid garnet. Nicely melded nose. Round and sweet and easy. Rather burgundian with fully evolved tannins. Sufficient freshness. Not dense but charming. Just not that long. (JR)
Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 2007 Bordeaux tasting. The 2007 Lafon Rochet has a lively and fresh bouquet with scents of blackberry, woodland and cigar box—harmonious and gaining intensity in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, crisp acidity and fine cohesion. It might lack a little weight and it’s unapologetically foursquare, but it has a sense of style and class. Tasted March 2015.
