Note di degustazione
Bright, full ruby-red. Pure, penetrating aromas of blackberry, violet, minerals and dark chocolate. Juicy, minerally and tightly wound, with a youthfully imploded core of dark fruits. Kept firm by an edge of acidity. Best today on the very long, subtle back end. This needs a good seven or eight years of cellaring.

The 2002 Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux St.-Jacques sports a nose of red cherry syrup intermingled with Asian spices and minerals. Medium to full-bodied and lively, the taster’s palate revels in its sumptuously velvety mouth-feel and interminable fruit. Copious quantities of jammy raspberries, red cherries, roses, and blackberries can be discerned in its complex flavors. This detailed, pure, long finishing wine should be drunk between 2008 and 2018. Full medium ruby. High-pitched, more masculine aromas of cassis, minerals and mint. Tightly wound and backward, with black fruit, menthol and mineral flavors. A distinctly tougher, cooler style of wine with a strong acid spine and terrific precision. Highly aromatic in the mouth and light on its feet. Tannins are firm but fine. Classic Lavaux.
