Note di degustazione
Dark, spicy and oaky on the nose. Roasted vegetables. Lots of cassis and vanilla. Firm, chewy but honest. Full of flavour but not flashy or overdone. Tannins are firm but neither hard nor bitter. (JH)

Now owned by Hubert de Bouard, this beautifully situated estate looks set to produce profound St.-Emilions. The 2011 boasts an opaque purple color along with copious blueberry and blackberry fruit notes interwoven with crushed rock and spring flower characteristics. Already complex with good purity, medium body, and a finish dominated by acidity as well as a chalky character, it will benefit from several years in the cellar as it is one of the more closed and backward 2011s I tasted. It should drink well for 10-15 years thereafter.
