Punteggio 15.5/20 · Da bere 2010-2014, Julia Harding MW, jancisrobinson.com, Feb 2009

Deep garnet and showing a little more age than the Bellevue. Dark fruit and just the first hint of meatiness and undergrowth. Ripe and savoury, roasted potato skins. Soft deep tannins. Dark flavours and just enough freshness.  (JH)

Punteggio 88/100 · Da bere 2011-2027, Robert Parker, Jun 2007

A chalky component to the tannins is somewhat troubling, but otherwise, the 2004 Bellevue possesses impressive credentials. Its dense ruby/purple-hued color is followed by aromas of crushed rocks, sweet cherry and currant fruit, and background new oak. Medium to full-bodied with moderately sharp tannin, but terrific fruit purity, texture, and a real sense of its place of origin, this structured wine is meant for serious connoisseurs. It will need 4-5 years of cellaring, and should last for 15-20.

Very dark, blackish crimson. Simple, straightforward fruity aromas. Slightly furry tannins. Dry finish. Falls away. [Nicolas Thienpont has looked after the property since 2000.] (JR)
