Deep crimson. Ripe purple berry flavours. Thick and very chewy – a bit ungainly and the dry tannins overwhelm other elements unfortunately. Dry ink on the finish. (JR)

Medium ruby. Tarry black fruits and spicy oak on the nose. Broad and primary but a bit inky and ungiving. This has some density but comes across as tough today, without the depth of flavor or personality of recent vintages. Finishes with granular tannins.
