A delicious, deep plum/purple-colored wine, this 2005 exhibits loads of blackcurrant fruit, some loamy, earthy notes, medium to full body, and a rich, savory mouthfeel. It should drink well for at least another 5-6 years.
Fragrant, lightly floral dark fruit. Dusty. Tannins a little tough but there's nicely scented dark fruit on the mid palate. Finishes a bit dry but there's more to come. Really quite dense and long. (JH)
So sweet and ripe there’s even a slight mintiness on the nose. Fragrant despite the intense oaky spice. Delicious balance of ripeness and freshness so that it glides across the palate and goes on and on. My rating of this wine was above average compared with my fellow tasters. (JH) One of 56 Pessac-Léognan reds that were tasted blind in London for Decanter magazine in July 2008.
