The 2004 Les Pensees de Lafleur, made from the estate’s youngest vines, offers sweet, forward cherry fruit in an open-knit style. It represents about one-third of the production, and should drink well for 10-15 years.

Deep red-ruby. Fresh but distinctly wild aromas of meat, leather and pepper; very Lafleur. Sweet and lush but with solid underlying structure and firm framing acidity. Complex flavors of game, tobacco, flowers, herbs and underbrush. Finishes with firm tannins and very good length.
Bright purple. Very lush and opulent with great freshness and structure on the palate but no meanness. Bright, spicy but a very, very dry finish. (JR)

The Société Civile du Ch. Lafleur is the collective name for the Guinaudeau family’s wines and estates. These are some of the Right Bank’s most famous wines, including Ch. Lafleur and Les Pensées in Pomerol, along with Les Perrières, Les Champs Libres and Ch. Grand Village in Fronsac.
