Note di degustazione
I tasted two bottles of the 1970 Branaire-Ducru, the last one was back in 2009. Neither suggested that this is a wine to cellar and in fact, it seems that this rather dilute Saint-Julien ought to have been consumed many years ago.

The 1970 is a dark ruby wine that is now approaching maturity. This Branaire is a plump, somewhat fat wine, with good, chewy fruit, some coarse, dusty tannins, and plenty of oak aromas. Big and powerful rather than elegant, it is a good, but not excellent wine for the chateau. Anticipated maturity: Now. Last tasted, 2/83.
