Dominique Lafon's 2011 Bourgogne is gorgeous. Expressive, layered and absolutely impeccable in its balance and pure class, the 2011 impresses for its balance. Veins of minerality and acidity support a core of yellow-fleshed fruit in a delicious Burgundy that punches above its weight. Lafon's Bourgogne is a blend of Meursault and Puligny fruit.

There is a touch of resin to the otherwise nicely complex nose of green apple, rosemary oil and floral hints. I like the vibrancy of the attractively well-detailed flavors that terminate in a mildly austere, clean and dry finish that offers reasonably good depth and length. This is a competent Bourgogne that should benefit from a year or two of bottle age. Tasted: Oct 15, 2013. Drink: 2014+
Informazioni sul produttore

Having established Domaine des Comtes Lafon as one of the finest addresses in Burgundy, Dominique Lafon set up an eponymous négociant business in 2008. The vines are all farmed by the Lafon team and the wines generally leaner than those of Comtes Lafon, with less new oak.
