Note di degustazione
The 2011 Fourcas Hosten has a simple bouquet that is clearly a step down from the previous two vintages, featuring smudged red berry fruit, sous-bois and touches of mint, and later a hint of toffee. It does actually meliorate and gain definition with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, displaying more red and black fruit, and some softness toward the easygoing, tobacco-tinged finish. Not bad given the vintage, but I would not leave it too much longer.

Also recommended, but no tasting note given.
Darkest black cherry colour. Fresh dark cassis fruit with just a light dustiness. Dry powder-fine tannins, relatively slight in body and flesh but all in balance. Much better than the sample tasted in Bordeaux during primeurs week. (JH)
Very attractive fruit for this appellation with currants, minerals and flowers on the nose and palate. Medium body, silky tannins. James Suckling, jamessuckling.com
