Note di degustazione
From former Mouton-Rothschild regisseur Patrick Leon, this is a soft, hedonistic, up-front wine with attractive levels of black cherry, spicy black currant fruit, with some roasted herbs and spice in the background. Drink it over the next 3-4 years.

86% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc . Healthy crimson. Slightly stale fruit aromas. Then much fresher on the palate with even a hint of black cherries – a superripe note I did note expect to find in 2006s! Lots of very firm tannin on the finish. A bit angular but well intentioned. This is the wine made by the family of Patrick Léon, once in charge of winemaking at Ch Mouton Rothschild (and a major influence at Opus One in the early days). It is stricter than most Fronsacs and perhaps has benefited from some tip top Pauillac barrels? Sappy, rich and bloody. A very sweet start for a Fronsac – more rigorous and long term than many of its peers. Pretty inky finish though. (JR)
