Moderately saturated medium red. Soil-driven aromas of cherry, spices, mocha and smoky minerals. Supple on entry, showing good viscosity for 2008, then brighter in the mid-palate, with juicy acidity framing and lifting the cherry, mineral and floral flavors. The long finish features an almost iodiney saline quality and sweet, suave tannins.

(from soil rich in calcaire Medium red. Musky aromas of redcurrant and flinty minerality. At once sweet and juicy, offering more buffering acidity and mineral energy to support the red fruit and smoke flavors; fleshier than the Hauts de Beaux Monts. The intriguing flinty nuance carries through on the palate. Finishes with solid tannins but no hardness.
