As with the 2011, this is pretty much ready to go, although a very different style, with fatter fruits, less elegant but more fruit-forward, enjoyable ripe blackberries and blueberries, touches of liqourice and smoked cedar. 40% new oak. A little short on the finish perhaps, but charming.

70% Sauvignon, 30% Sémillon. Aged in 35% new oak for 15 months. Rather tired nose even if there’s a certain mealy liquorice note on the palate. Sour finish. My guess is that this was much better younger. (JR)
Tasted blind. Rich, rather opulent nose. Good balance with some zest. Drier than most – finishes bone dry. (JR)
