Still quite dark crimson. Spicy and fully ripe on the nose. Racy and fresh and silky. Dry finish but lots of ripe fruit first. Fills the palate. Racy and appetising. (JR)
A medium-bodied, pretty wine, the 2008 reveals notions of subtle barbecue smoke, unsmoked cigar tobacco and sweet red and black currants in a round, fruit-forward style. It is best consumed over the next 10-14 years.
Fresh and scented – mulberry and cedar. Dense but juicy on the palate and that cedar again. Grainy but just supple. Youthful but no real spark of excitement. (JH)
