Note di degustazione
The 2004 Chateauneuf du Pape (80% Grenache, 10% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre) is another outstanding effort from this estate. Loaded with sweet fruit, licorice, blackberry and garrigue, this supple, forward beauty is all about fruit and texture. Complex, mature and ready to go, enjoy bottles over the coming couple of years. A go-to estate in just about any vintage, Domaine de la Janasse produced impressive wines in 2004. Both whites were outstanding (I was blown away by the cuvee Prestige!) and aging gracefully, and all three reds showed uncommon fruit and texture in the vintage.

Deep ruby. Fresh raspberry and strawberry aromas are elegant and precise. Bright, racy and poised, with sweet red fruit and gentle mineral flavors and a distinctly silky texture. Finishes impressively pure and long, with precise red fruit flavors.
Dark red. Lush and open on the nose, showing aromas of spicy red berries and cassis accented by subtle notes of violet and garrigue Quite suave and elegant in texture, with the deep, round berry flavors gaining weight as they open in the glass. Finishes supple and gently tannic.
