Note di degustazione
Floral fragrance. Real lift and suppleness with a whiff of Syrah on the nose. Relatively high acidity and some quite tough tannins still. A very chunky wine on the palate. (JR)

Structured, concentrated, and full-bodied is the 2001 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Classique. It offers a classic southern Rhone aromatic display of ground pepper, garrigue, cherry liqueur, plums, and cedar. Full-bodied, sweet, expansive, and pure, with excellent delineation, it will benefit from 1-3 years of cellaring, and drink well for 12-15. Deep red. Aromas of raspberry, black olive and garrigue Juicy, slightly dry-edged flavors of exotic red berries and dried herbs. Moderately complex, traditionally styled Chateauneuf with a slightly pinched back half.
Scented and fragrant. Very very chewy. Hot and angular, yet there is a little hole in the middle. (JR)
