Medium red. Highly nuanced, rather cool aromas of black fruits, minerals, violet and spices; distinctly Vosne-like. Then juicy, dense and primary, with lovely inner-mouth energy. Black fruit and licorice flavors build nicely and linger on the very long, brisk aftertaste. I like this style. This is technically a village wine, as half of the Lecheneauts' vines are in the village portion of this vineyard.

Loads of cherries and spices are found in the nose of the 2002 Nuits-St.-Georges Les Damodes. This wine is broad, immensely rich, and has an awesome, liquid satin-like mouth-feel. Candied red cherries, cinnamon, assorted spices, and distant hints of new oak can be found in its ample, sexy, sensual personality as well as in its lengthy finish. Good red-ruby. Red- and blackcurrant, minerals, licorice and nutty oak on the slightly reduced nose. Fat, musky and sweet, with flavors of redcurrant, leather and espresso. Distinctly minerally wine, like the Vosne villages This has very good vinosity and dusty, well-distributed tannins.
