Punteggio 87/100 · Da bere 1991, Robert Parker, Jan 1998

A top-notch success for the vintage, the 1970 La Fleur Petrus is now at its apogee. It is very round and richly fruity, with medium body, a lush, velvety texture, and a long finish. The predominant impression is one of rich, roasted black cherries and spices. Anticipated maturity: Now. Last tasted, 1/91.

Punteggio 89/100 · Da bere 2019-2029, Neal Martin

The 1970 La Fleur-Pétrus comes from one of the few magnums that remain in the Moueix’s cellar, but to be honest, it does not shine like the 1964 and 1967. It has a pleasant bouquet with moderate vigor, notes of mulberry, black plum fruit and a conspicuous touch of iodine developing with aeration. The medium-bodied palate is framed by firm tannins, probably due to the impeccable provenance and format, though it remains unapologetically strict and linear. This is not flamboyant like Petrus or Trotanoy, with copious sous-bois notes toward the finish. It just lacks a bit of joie-de-vivre .
