Closed, tannic, and firmly structured, the 2000 reveals chalky tannin as well as attractive plum, prune, and crushed berry fruit with hints of mineral, licorice, and compost. Medium-bodied, firm, and in need of cellaring, it should be at its best between 2007-2014.

Medium ruby. Inky, medicinal aromas of black cherry and mint. Thick on entry, but somewhat herbaceous and hard-edged, with clenched berry flavors. I'm not sure there enough middle-palate material to support the rather tough tannins. Not a particularly good showing today.
