Punteggio 16/20 · Da bere 2016-2021, Jancis Robinson MW, Apr 2016

I like this back label telling us it's 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec. Correct and fresh. Not luscious! Quite crisp and direct. No suggestion of anything specious. No excess oak but a fair right-bank alternative to some rather tired St-Émilions at the same price or more. (JR)

Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2016-2022, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jan 2016

The 2012 Puygueraud is a soft, supple red to drink now and over the next handful of years. Licorice, tobacco, menthol, plums and earthy notes are all laced together nicely in the glass. Medium in body and already quite forward, the 2012 is an excellent choice for drinking over the next handful of years. An intriguing array of sweet and savory notes lingers on the inviting finish. The tannins are a bit gritty, but this is a solid effort nonetheless. The 2012 is 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Malbec.

A light to mid-weight effort from the Cotes de Francs, this wine reveals a deep ruby/plum color, a touch of herbaceousness, and sweet red and black fruits. Drink this attractive 2012 over the next 5-6 years.
