Note di degustazione
A sleeper of the vintage, this cuvee, made by Ausone’s Alain Vauthier, possesses a dark purple color as well as an elegant perfume of cold steel interwoven with crushed rocks, white flowers, blueberries, and licorice. With terrific fruit, medium body, sweet tannin, and a long, layered finish, it can be drunk now and over the next decade.

Very deep crimson and an extremely rich nose but this Vauthier (of Ausone) wine has much more fruit all the way through than most of the wines from this appellation. Rich, velvety texture with notes of gaminess, yet supple. Silky texture in fact. Only the slightly green tannins on the finish diminish this wine. (JR)
