The fully mature 2001 Hermitage Marquise de la Tourette is bricking in hue, marked by notes of rusty iron and dried cherries. It remains medium to full-bodied, with a wonderfully silky feel and a tender, delicate finish. Drink up.

Pale crimson with a very light rim. Meaty, substantial nose – quite evolved. Not the density of a great Hermitage but already a very satisfying drink. Quite long. Pleasant wine rather than classic Hermitage. Clean and brisk. 13% (JR)
Dark red. Strongly flinty aromas of dark berries, smoked meat, beefsteak tomato and bitter chocolate. Dense, juicy and penetrating, with vibrant flavors of red and black berries, gunflint, menthol, smoke, spice and pepper. Offers a lovely combination of richness and vinosity. Impressively thick finish shows fine tannins.
The dense ruby/purple-colored 2001 Hermitage Marquise de la Tourette (70% from Les Bessards and 30% from l’Hermite) displays a sweet perfume of creme de cassis and licorice, a stern personality, high tannin, and a touch of minerality.
