Bright garnet. Sweet cassis and oak spice and some eucalyptus. Very New World first impression. Sweet fruit carries through on the palate but balanced by attractive dry freshness. Modern, clean and bright. (JH)

Solid, very youthful. Seems much more than one year younger than the 2003. Angular but lots of elements in there waiting to develop. Fruit tannins. Chewy end. (JR)
A dark plum/ruby color is accompanied by a big, sweet black raspberry, cherry, lead pencil shavings, crushed rock, and spring flower-scented bouquet. Supple tannin, low acidity, and excellent ripeness characterize this hedonistic, well-made St.-Emilion. It should drink beautifully for 10-12 years.
Deep red. Sexy, liqueur-like aromas of redcurrant, plum, cherry, coffee, chocolate and nutty oak, with a hint of game. Creamy, pliant and seamless, but with good mineral lift giving this excellent definition for such a rich style. The horizontal tannins are wonderfully sweet and suave for the vintage, and the wine's sweet finishing fruit and caramel oak flavors mount impressively and saturate the palate.
