Punteggio 82/100 · Neal Martin, Sep 2023
The 1961 Belair is a crushing disappointment given the reputation of older vintages, although by this time, its heyday was far behind. This comes across as rather static and slightly vegetal on the nose, a trait that is uncommon in this vintage. The palate is marked by dry, chewy tannins and an enervated finish. I'm going to park a question mark against my score because I was expecting so much more. Tasted at "Koala's" Bordeaux dinner in Hong Kong.
