Note di degustazione
The 2009 Jean Faure seems slightly overripe on the nose, just as I found it a few years ago, offering smudged black plum and melted tar. It feels a little dusty, and that same trait comes through on the palate. Ripe and sweet on the entry, it just misses complexity and lacks a bit of amplitude. It’s like a guitar with half its strings missing. This should have been much better.

Made by Olivier Decelle of Mas Amiel fame. Smooth, polished, refreshing with hazelnut and meat notes. Quite vital and zesty. But not desperately complex. (JR)
Roasted herbs that remind me of Provence intermixed with sweet kirsch, damp earth, spice box and a hint of background oak jump from the glass of this dense, plum/ruby/purple-colored wine. Ripe, low in acidity, nicely textured and rounds, this is another wine to drink over the next decade.
Mid depth of crimson. Hint of hazelnuts – unusual in a red Bordeaux. Rather loose. Attractive, easy fruit but not desperately ambitious. (JR)
