Even more restrained and more mineral than the Clos de beze but with huge power in the background. A cooler fruit character and more fragrance here and the texture is even silkier. A notch up. Very fine and very long and very complex. This again will need time: a sleeping Lion.

Medium red. Musky aromas of strawberry, menthol and minerals, accented by a building peppery quality. Intensely flavored, tactile and tight, showing pungent peppery cut and a youthful bitter edge to the savory flavors of red berries, minerals and herbs. Finishes sappy and quite long, with a firm spine of acids and tannins and lingering notes of earth, menthol and pepper. A pure if rather strict rendering of this great grand cru, in need of patience.
