Note di degustazione
Medium red. Very reduced nose hints at redcurrant, spices and sexy smoky oak. Lush and silky on the palate, with a compelling sweetness to the rich red fruit and soil flavors. Not yet showing much complexity, with the oak element dominating today, but communicates a sense of power that suggests this wine will benefit from further elevage and time in bottle.

A healthy dollop of wood toast is in evidence along with distinctly cool and restrained aromas of wild red berries, wet stone, underbrush and exotic black tea nuances. There is a relatively supple and forward mouth feel to the mid-palate that exudes an almost pungent minerality on the solid if not exceptionally concentrated finish. There is however enough dry extract present to buffer the moderately firm tannic spine on the balanced, long and sappy finish. Tasted: Apr 15, 2013. Drink: 2023+

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
