Note di degustazione
The 1969 Coutet was the surprise package at the end of a dinner at 67 Pall Mall. It has a beguiling, pretty bouquet, lighter than the 1962 tasted around the same time, offering scents of dried honey, Mirabelle, saffron and vanilla pod. There is a satisfying sense of purity, given that this was not a benevolent vintage for Sauternes. The palate is medium-bodied with pleasing viscosity, quince and mango, light but balanced and elegant. Drink soon. Tasted at 67 Pall Mall at Chelsea Vintners' "The Complete Bordeaux" dinner.
