2008 Lilian Ladouys

Really oaky on the nose – toasty and chocolate. Similar on the palate though the fruit is there, just pretty much dominated by the oak at the moment. Tannins are thick pile and ripe and yet it still contrives freshness and lots of spice at the end. Warm on the finish and just a little too oaky for my taste, though I suppose it will calm down. (JH)
