The flagship wines start with the 2006 Founder's Reserve Series Syrah -La Cumbre-. A glass-coating opaque purple, it delivers a superb bouquet of balsam, smoke, game, black cherry, and blueberry. Elegant on the palate, it has a smooth texture, outstanding grip, incipient complexity, and a lengthy finish. Give it 3-5 years of additional cellaring and drink it through 2026. (100% syrah) Inky ruby. Deep, smoky aromas of red and dark berries, cured meat and dried flowers. This really smells like syrah. Broad and fleshy, with sweet raspberry and blackberry flavors, gentle tannins and a late note of beef jerky. Really hangs onto the palate, repeating the sexy red fruit note.
