Punteggio 14.5/20 · Da bere 2010-2014, Jancis Robinson MW, Oct 2009

Light brûlé character on the nose. Pretty dry with drying tannins. Not very harmonious – over-extracted? Though there is some sweetness (alcohol-derived?) on the finish. (JR)

Punteggio 88/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2005

Moderately saturated red-ruby. Black raspberry, coffee, smoke and meat on the nose. Sweet, fat and dense, with come-hither flavors of black raspberry, cedar, leather and game. Finishes with dusty tannins and very good length. This has plenty of sex appeal, and shows a better balance in bottle than it did in the spring after the harvest.

Punteggio 88-91/100 · Da bere 2005-2015, Robert Parker, Oct 2003

Once again a sleeper of the vintage, this St.-Emilion, made by perfectionist Alain Vauthier (proprietor of Ausone), reveals a character not unlike Ausone. It lacks only the majesty and completeness of that extraordinary wine. The Moulin St.-Georges exhibits an inky ruby/purple color along with a gorgeous perfume recalling a liqueur of crushed stones intermixed with white flowers, black currants, and a hint of raspberries. The excellent texture, terrific purity, and undeniable elegance as well as overall harmony suggest it is best drunk between 2005-2015.
