The 2007 Richebourg is the most reticent of these 2007s, and I don’t think time will do much to alter that state of affairs. The wine possesses good length and balance but only modest complexity, particularly at this level. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2022. Importer: Atherton Imports, Menlo Park, CA; tel. (650) 328-6639
Palish medium red. Reticent but nuanced nose hints at raspberry, spices and earth. The most intense of these 2007s but youthfully closed, with sound acid spine for the vintage giving shape to the sweet red fruit and mineral flavors. I like the wine's blend of silkiness and solidity. Finishes with a mineral firmness without coming off as hard.
Medium red. Sweet aromas of red fruits and spices. Opulent and deceptively open, with a thickness to its cherry, mineral and underbrush flavors. The suavest and longest of this range, finishing with strong fruit tones and lingering minerality.

Based in Vosne-Romanée, Domaine Gros Frère & Sœur is a relatively large estate for the Côte de Nuits with an impressive portfolio of wines including three Grands Crus (Richebourg, Clos de Vougeot and Echezeaux).
