A blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot, the 2009 is a major sleeper of the vintage. It shows impeccable balance and a great deal of power as well as finesse in its elegant cassis aromas and flavors, mixed with some cedar and floral notes. Dark ruby/purple, with medium body and impressive concentration, it should drink well for 12-15+ years. Stephane Derenoncourt is behind the resurrection of this well regarded cru bourgeois in Margaux. (A member of the Association of Crus Bourgeois du Medoc.)
70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot. Bottle seems a bit heavy. Gamey nose. Thick and sweet. But without much subtlety. Certainly more ambitious than most. Very chewy and dense. (JR)
