Note di degustazione
The 1986 de Fargues was picked over four tries through the vineyard, with the heart of the harvest picked between October 26 and November 6 under nigh perfect humid conditions. It has an iridescent amber hue. The nose is soft and plush with scents of golden syrup, fresh fig and marmalade. There is real power here, but there is something also mellow and alluring. The palate is very sensual on the entry, a little lower in acidity than the 1988. There is great depth to the ‘86 with luscious marmalade and quince notes that inform the rounded, botrytis-rich finish. Marvellous. Tasted April 2013.

Informazioni sul produttore

Owned by the Lur-Saluces family (which also previously owned Ch. d’Yquem) since 1472, Ch. de Fargues benefited from similar care and attention. The resulting wines are impressive and – unlike most in the region which are now offered en primeur – only released three years after the vintage.
