25 ha plot bought from Lagrange in 1968/69 by Jean Eugène Borie. It’s close to Lagrange and Gruaud Larose. 36 yr old vines on fine gravel soils – not the big stones of Beaucaillou. Coolish fermentation. Deep crimson. Thick and rather brutal – pretty chewy. Stringy finish even if a little sweet at the start. No real concentration in the middle, very very dry end. Sandpaper finish. (JR)
Bright ruby-red. Expressive aromas of redcurrant and spicy oak. Juicy and sappy, with fruit-driven flavors of black fruits, flowers and minerals. Offers a nice combination of sweetness and cut. In a suppler style than past vintages: as of 2005, Bruno Borie introduced a pre-fermentation cold soak for this cuvee
