Note di degustazione
Smart consumers have long recognized the quality of Montrose’s second wine in top vintages. The deep plum/ruby/purple-tinged 2004 La Dame de Montrose possesses sweet tannin, loads of supple fruit (there must be considerable Merlot in the blend), and a round, juicy, stylish finish. Enjoy it over the next 7-8 years.

(a 50/50 blend of cabernet and merlot) Bright ruby-red. Black fruits, licorice and flowers on the nose; seems quite cabernet in character. Then supple and juicy, with dark berry flavors complicated by musky dark chocolate. Finishes with supple tannins and lovely lingering flavor. This has become a topnotch second wine in recent years.
[CS 50%, M 50%] Healthy purple. Sweetness and freshness on the nose. Surprisingly round – not especially typical of St Estèphe, nor very typical of 2004. Charming with good acidity and extremely fine tannins. Charm itself. Very gentle right up to the end which, with its dryness, reminds us that, yes, this is a 2004. (JR)

Ch. Montrose is one of two Second Growths from Saint-Estèphe and one of the most consistent producers in Bordeaux. The wines from this property are both elegant and powerful, and some of the Médoc's most age-worthy .
