Bright, lightish crimson. Lovely vivacity and flirtatious, even rich fruit. A real triumph showing very well even at this stage. No shortage of structure. (JR)

Spicy, intense and explosive with seemingly endless reserves of breadth and this too is muscular and quite complex but both the Clos de Vougeot and the Bonnes Mares have better underlying material. To be sure, this is regal and quite stylish but it's not quite at the same top level of the best of this range. Allen Meadows, Burghound. Apr01,2003
Full ruby-red. Knockout nose combines complex dark berry notes, musky smoke and coffee, sexy oak and subtle earth tones. Dense, smooth and consistent, with explosive fruit and soil tones. Already wonderfully aromatic in the mouth. Finishes with noble tannins, great finesse and a hint of menthol austerity.
