In my opinion, this brilliantly run property should have been elevated in the recent reclassification of St.-Emilion. This dark ruby-colored wine with a purple center exhibits a spicy, toasty, plum, black-cherry, and cassis-scented nose, and medium-bodied, tannic flavors, with good sweetness, purity, and ripeness. The wine is a backward 1993 that will require 2-4 years of cellaring; it will keep for a dozen or more years. Anticipated maturity: 2001-2012.

One of the rising stars of the Right Bank. Sleek and racy, sporting fine tannins, plenty of beautiful currant and berry flavors, medium body, firm tannins and long finish. Better in 1998. –Wine Spectator 1996
