Deep vibrant coppery gold. Lovely intense botrytis perfume verging on varnish. Big, round palate impact. Open, straightforward creamy fruit with particularly ravishingly sumptuous texture. Long. (JR)

With 90% Semillon in the blend, in a year that favored this varietal, Nairac's 1997 is an impressively-endowed, full-bodied, intensely sweet wine with layers of flavor, considerable glycerin, a chewy, cherry liqueur-like, honeyed, smoky new oak-scented bouquet, and a long, intense, thick finish. It exhibits plenty of botrytis, seemingly low acidity, and the potential for an outstanding rating. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2020.

Pale straw-gold color. Tangy aromas of apricot, butterscotch and oak spice, along with an exotic suggestion of coconut. Lively honey and oak spice flavors; moderately viscous, spicy and bright. Classic passerillage character. Finishes fresh and quite long. Nairac made the equivalent of only 5 hectoliters per hectare.
